The journey for former Cy-Fair star running back Sam McGuffie has been one full of twists and turns. Now, McGuffie will be twisting and turning in the Winter Olympics. McGuffie was one of 12 male athletes selected to the 2018 U.S. Olympic Men’s Bobsled Team on Monday.

McGuffie was a star athlete at Cy-Fair High School, eventually signing with Michigan. However, he suffered three concussions and left Ann Arbor after his first season. He finished his career back home at Rice, where he gained 883 yards and scored six touchdowns. He has 384 yards and three more touchdowns in his best season at Rice.
He moved around several practice squads in the NFL and had a brief stint in the Canadian Football League as well. The Winter Olympics are scheduled to take place in PyeongChang, South Korea for the upcoming Olympic Winter Games in February.
