Former Lake Travis High School quarterback, Baker Mayfield, leads the 2-2 Cleveland Browns in to Levis Stadium to take on the undefeated San Francisco 49ers tonight on Monday Night Football.
Mayfield is in the midst of a up-and-down sophomore season for the Browns. The pride of Lake Travis has seen two games where the quarterback finished with a completion percentage over 50% and over 300 yards passing. While each of his four games has seen Mayfield throw at least one interception.
After a sluggish start to their season, starting 1-2, the Browns came to life on the road last week against the Baltimore Ravens. Mayfield led the charge with a 66.7% completion percentage, 350 yards, and a touchdown.
The former Cavaliers quarterback has taken responsibility for his slow start saying, “I think it falls back on me just playing better, getting the ball out and getting completions like I keep harping on. Just trusting the system,” Mayfield said. “Everybody is going to do their job. We know what everybody is going to do. That is why we practiced in camp. That is why did everything like that. Just trust and do my job.” (Cleveland Browns)
