Former San Antonio Reagan Star Leading Texas Team to Possible College Playoff

Mond passes Manziel as Aggies roll Razorbacks

Senior quarterback Kellen Mond became Texas A&M’s all-time total offense leader in a 42-31 in over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday at Kyle Field.

Mond completed 21 of 26 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns to go with 32 rushing yards on six carries. Texas A&M (4-1, 4-1 Southeastern Conference) moves up one spot to No. 7 in the latest Associated Press College Football Poll with the win over Arkansas (2-3, 2-3).

The win helps A&M keep pace with No. 2 Alabama (6-0) who leads the SEC West.

The former San Antonio Reagan star had touchdown passes to Ainias Smith (Fort Bend Dulles) of 35 and 15 yards and added a six-yard scoring pass to Jalen Wydermyer (Dickinson) in the second quarter.

Mond played at Reagan before finishing out his prep career at the IMG Academy in Florida. Mond was the District 26-6A Offensive MVP as a junior after throwing for 1,991 yards and 26 scores while rushing for 900 more yards.

A&M visits South Carolina (2-3, 2-3) at 6 p.m. on Saturday on ESPN.
