Ezukanma, Tech fall short in upset bid
Erik Ezukanma had 183 yards receiving and two touchdowns, but Texas Tech’s late upset bid fell short as the Red Raiders fell to Oklahoma State 50-44 on Saturday.
Oklahoma State (6-2, 5-2 Big 12) moved up four spots to No. 19 after the win over Tech (3-6, 2-6).
Ezukanma, a former Fort Worth Timber Creek star, had seven catches and nearly helped the Red Raiders overcome a 19-point fourth-quarter deficit.
He hauled in a 32-yard touchdown pass from Alan Bowman (Grapevine) to cut the Oklahoma State lead to 50-37 with 3 minutes, 57 seconds remaining.
Ezukanma recorded 2,471 yards and 32 touchdowns receiving in three varsity seasons at Timber Creek.
Tech looks to rebound on Saturday when it visits Kansas (0-8, 0-7).
