The Houston Cougars added some depth to their defense on Friday afternoon as the school officially announced that former Miami (FL) linebacker Darrion Owens would be joining the team as a graduate transfer.
Owens announced that he would be leaving school as a graduate transfer at the beginning of 2018.

Owens, a native of Orange Park, Florida, played in 39 games for the Hurricanes and all 13 games in 2017. He finished his career in Miami with 35 tackles this past season and 79 total for his career. He will be immediately eligible to play for the Cougars in 2018.
Per the school, Owens is the seventh member of the 2018 signing class to enroll in classes on campus.
