David Beaty is a Texas guy who coached in Garland and Irving before hitting the college ranks, so he knows the importance of recruiting Texas. He might have a steal on his hands with his most recent commit, Gerome Henry out of Houston Westfield.

Henry is playing on both sides of the ball for Westfield, who despite being known for Keondre Coburn, have lots of athletes. He’s as of yet unranked, but he’s a class of 2019 recruit, so it doesn’t matter all too much. According to Henry, the offer came after he ran a 4.4 40 yard dash at Kansas’s camp.
The Mustangs open the 2017 season against Houston Lamar on September 1st.
