“This has been a long process and I’m just blessed to be able to have my tuition paid for and play the sport I love,” Blunt said in his Twitter announcement. “After all that’s been said I would like to announce that I am committed to McNeese St.”
A rangy, 6’1, 160-pound prospect, Blunt picked up his McNeese State offer on Monday and just two days later, Blunt pledged to the Cowboys over an offer from Northeastern State University. In doing so, Blunt became the second Texas native to commit to McNeese State this week, joining Cibolo Steele Charley Zeno, who committed on Monday.
All three of the Cowboys’ current 2018 commits hail from The Lone Star State, as Blunt and Zeno join Sachse tight end Chase Davis; McNeese State’s first commit this cycle.
McNeese State’s 2018 class currently headlines the Southland Conference.
