It’s getting hard keeping up with Matt Rhule and Baylor recruiting. They landed a total of six recruits yesterday, putting them at 20 total for the 2017 class. The Bears have had little to work with along the recruiting trail after the scandal that rocked their school, but Rhule and company have flipped several commits and complied a solid squad in a month and a half. The latest commit is Gavin Holmes, a three star wide receiver from Justin Northwest.

Northwest had one of the biggest turnarounds in the state last year. In 2015 they went 1-9, in 2016 they flipped that record and went 9-1 in the regular season, their only loss coming to juggernaut Aledo. Their playoff run was cut short by a loss in the second round to Colleyville Heritage, but regardless, this was a fantastic turnaround that put their final record at 10-2.
Holmes has some serious wheels in the open field, and his playstyle will fit perfectly with that wide-open Baylor offense. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on the field in the 2018 season at all.
