The Cowboys just got a little bit better through recruitment: Kilgore’s Jonathan Shepherd has committed to Oklahoma State.

The 6’3″, 195 pound wide receiver was an all-district performer as a junior. His team went 7-5 during the 2016 season, they lost to a good Stafford team in the second round of the playoffs. Shepherd was projected to go to either TCU or Oklahoma State, so this doesn’t come as a massive surprise, but it’s still a big win for the Pokes.
Oklahoma State has been a more than solid team in the Big XII for a while, and it’s only going to get stronger now that Mike Gundy’s nemesis Bob Stoops has retired. The Pokes had another 10 win season after thumping Colorado in the Alamo Bowl, and more 10 win seasons could be in the near future.
