Laredo LBJ Key Players and Storylines
Years of hard work finally paid off for LBJ in 2025. The Wolves broke through and made it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
It’s an accomplishment that head coach Leo Mireles wants to make sure becomes the norm and not an exception.
10 starters return this season including quarterback Vicente Robles (1,880 passing yards and 16 touchdowns), the centerpiece of the offense. He’ll have no shortage of playmakers in his arsenal with explosive senior receiver Aiden De Leon (391 receiving yards and three touchdowns) and promising junior receiver Jose Luis Pacheco (325 receiving yards and four touchdowns).
The Wolves have their defensive leader back too in safety Leo Mireles IV (109 tackles, three TFLs), the 2025 District Defensive MVP.In front of him, linebacker Ramses Gonzalez (98 tackles, four TFLs) was just as impactful last season, while Mireles believes Diego Estevis (44 tackles, eight TFLs) is the “best defensive lineman in the district.”
As he heads into his sixth season leading the Wolves, Mireles believes a winning culture has been established. In LBJ’s 22-year history, it has now made the playoffs twice. The Wolves will be out to continue re-writing that narrative this year as they look to secure back-to-back playoff berths for the first time in program history.
