The Longhorns are already semi-stacked at the quarterback position, but that might not stop graduating senior Brandon Harris of LSU, who is reportedly visiting Texas before he graduates in the summer.
Comparatively, with Arizona, North Carolina, and another mystery school on the list, landing with the Longhorns seems like a longshot at this point if Harris wants to play. Shane Buechele is still very much on the Longhorn’s roster, and incoming freshman Sam Ehlinger is expected to challenge for playing time very soon.
It’s always good to have depth, but for a graduating senior transferring to use their last year of eligibility, it’s not the best thing to be stuck behind a younger guy. Texas is on his list of visits, but personally, I don’t know if there’s really any way that he ends up in Austin.
Harris started 15 games in three seasons for LSU. He started one game in 2016, a 14-16 loss to Wisconsin in the season opener. He was replaced by Danny Etling in the middle of the second game of the season, and did not start another game.
