In an intense District 12-6A clash, Midway defeated Temple 36-33 in a thrilling back-and-forth game. Midway struck first with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Charlie Cantrell and built a 21-9 lead by halftime. Temple responded in the third quarter with a flurry of points, including two touchdown passes from quarterback Champ Mayo, taking a 33-21 lead early in the fourth quarter.
Midway mounted a comeback with a 41-yard touchdown pass from Cash Pullin to Jaxson Burch and a 5-yard rushing touchdown by Landon Whisenton, who finished with 239 yards on 38 carries. The Panthers secured the win when their defense stopped Temple on a crucial fourth down in the final minute, handing the Wildcats their first district loss.
Temple’s three-game winning streak came to an end, while Midway improved to 5-2 on the season with the victory.
