Offensive Stat Monster – Heath Hood, White Oak
Hood had 514 total yards of offense last night, throwing for four scores, running for three more, and rounding out the offensive trifecta with a touchdown catch. White Oak pulled away in this one, and Hood was no small part of that effort.
Hard Hit Of The Week
Wow, the Battle of the Beltway has some serious hard hitting going on. #TXHSFB pic.twitter.com/jua0QkjhY8

The DeSoto – Cedar Hill rivalry will forever feature some hard hits, and this one from the Battle of the Belt Line might have the defender’s head still ringing.
The Most Surprising Score Of The Night
Wolfforth Frenship 40, Odessa Permian 28
I’m really high on Permian this year, they could end up being one of the best out of Region I. That’s why this result from a Frenship team that’s had some struggles is really surprising. I expected Permian to be playing San Angelo Central in a match of unbeatens for the district title. It could still end up that way, but the unbeaten part is a little out of the question right now.
“Where Was The Defense?!” Score Of The Night
Here’s a stat line out of Sweetwater that’s pretty nuts.
FINAL
SWEETWATER – 80
PECOS – 31@gofridaynight @KTXSSports @BigCountrySport @BCHsports #BeatPecos #SweetwaterMustangs

They weren’t the only team to drop over 80 last night, but here’s the crazy part: 42 of those 80 points came in the first quarter. Sweetwater had 64 at the half.
6-Man “Are We Sure This Isn’t Basketball” Score Of The Night

Happy scored more points in one game than some teams do in their entire district schedule.

Three Teams I Really Like
Dickinson
Most anything written about Dickinson by me is likely a ruse to get to use this video, but the Gators are really chugging along this year.

Awesome dance moves aside, Dickinson’s defensive play is definitely commendable. They need some help on the turnover issues and they need to learn how to finish out games so teams can’t come back on them, but all in all this team is riding high right now.
West Orange-Stark
Using the best team in 4A feels like a copout, but the Mustangs have been insanely impressive so far. They got scored on, but it was only a safety, so does it really count? Either way, the Mustang defense hasn’t given up any offensive touchdowns in five complete games.
Levelland
Are you looking for fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants football? The Lobos have it in spades. The sole blemish on their record is a loss to Andrews, but that shouldn’t phase you from buying in on them. QB Nick Gerber is either leading or close to leading all statistical categories that we measure quarterbacks by, and the way he commands the Lobo offense is worth the price of admission.
Other Things That Should Be Mentioned
Cameron Yoe gets 700th win – Milestones are always good, and this is a big one for one of the most storied programs in Texas.
Don’t sleep on Midland – The Bulldogs played top contender Desoto close last week and pummeled crosstown foe Midland Lee this week. They’re good, but how good?
Big win for Harlingen – Harlingen got out with a win over Harlingen South, and keeps the Bird Bowl bragging rights for another year.
