Over 40% of NFL Playoff Starting Quarterbacks are from Texas

Texas-grown quarterbacks are well represented in this year’s NFL Playoffs. The NFL has expanded to a 14 team playoff format, and 6 of those teams are led by quarterbacks that played their high school football in Texas.

The Quarterbacks are:

Ryan Tannehill

Big Spring

Tennessee Titans: The #1 Seed in the AFC, the 12-5 Titans have a first-round bye.

 

Patrick Mahomes

Whitehouse High School

Kansas City Chiefs: The 12-5 Cheifs are home against the 9-7 Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, January 16th at 8:15 pm.

 

Derek Carr

Clements High School (moved to California)

Las Vegas Raiders: The 10-7 Raiders play at Cincinnati against the 10-7 Bengals, Saturday the 15h at 4:30 pm

 

 

Matthew Stafford

Highland Park

LA Rams: The 12-5 Rams host the 11-6 Arizona Cardinals, Monday January 17th at 8:15pm

 

Kyler Murray

Allen High School

Arizona Cardinals: The 11-6 Cardinals travel to LA to play the 12-5 Rams Monday, January 17th at 8:15 pm.

 

Jalen Hurts

Channelview High School

Philadelphia Eagles: The 9-8 Eagles travel to Tampa Bay to face the 13-4 defending Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers at 1 pm, Sunday, January 16th.
