1: What was the highlight of your 2021 football season?

Coming off of an injury and playing in the state semi-finals.  Also, playing with my brother in his senior year.

2. What was the biggest challenge you or your team had to overcome this season?

Playing poorly and losing the 2nd game of the year to Timpson.  Our leaders really had to step up and we all had to come together as a team to ensure that this didn’t happen again.

3. If you could give advice to an incoming freshmen football player, what would it be?

Go into it with the mindset that you are going to work harder than everyone else, listen to coaching, win over your teammates, and ultimately you’ll earn your stripes.  Oh and have fun doing it!

4. If you could be a Super Hero, which one would you pick and why?

I’ve never really been into superheroes.  But my hero growing up was John Wayne because he is the badest dude on the planet.  He always handled his business.  I was a cowboy for Halloween every year because of him.

5. If you had to go to an island and only bring 3 things, what would you bring?

1.  Bible  2. Football  3. Phone

6. What is your go-to pre-game pump-up song?

Paradise City by Guns N Roses

7. What is your favorite football or sports movie?

Varsity Blues

8. Name a teammate that:

  • Improved the most this year: Carson Gonzalez
  • Is most likely to become President: Carter Watson, my brother
  • Has the best Tik Toks: Jayvis Jones
  • Is most likely to become a high school football coach: Trey Stevenson

Why do you love football?

Since I was a little boy I’ve always been around it.  I spent a lot of time in the fieldhouse as a kid because my dad coaches.  I always looked up to the guys he coached and always wanted to be like them one day. I remember playing football in my neighbor’s yard in elementary school with my friends. I was always the “all-time quarterback.” Then when I started playing in 4th grade it was just like something really clicked.  The feeling I get on Friday nights when I’m on the field is like no other.  Just being around my teammates and working to get a win every week is something really special.
