La Vega is 29-4 over the last two years and is coming off of a State Championship. They graduated many key starters, including 7 on defense. They have reloaded and find themselves 5-1. Their scheduled game next week against Brownwood has been canceled and they will be awarded the win, making them officially 6-1. They finish the season with Midlothian Heritage and Alvarado. Their only loss is to Argyle, 35-7, but Argyle is the best team in the state in 4A. With Jordan Rogers leading the offense, the Pirates will have a chance to make it back to the state title game.
