Fort Worth ISD has initiated a third-party investigation following reports of students shouting racial slurs at a high school football game in September. The incident occurred during a game at Farrington Field, involving North Side High School and Arlington Heights High School. While the district conducted its own inquiry, it was unable to identify the individuals responsible for the offensive remarks.
The school board condemned the behavior and stated that those involved could face serious disciplinary actions, including suspension or expulsion. According to reports, North Side cheerleaders were subjected to slurs and insults when they approached Arlington Heights’ cheerleaders as part of a game-day tradition. The incident has prompted community backlash, with district trustees expressing frustration over the lack of accountability and resolution.
In response to calls from parents and community leaders for action, Fort Worth ISD confirmed that the independent investigation will proceed to ensure transparency and fairness.
