This comes following speculation earlier in the year when Walker sustained a concussion against TCU back in October on what his status with the team was. Walker did not have his name listed on the depth chart when OU was slated to play Texas Tech, and rumors began spreading of him quitting the team.
However, as the concussion injuries have begun to pile up on Walker, with him experiencing one this year that limited him to four games, and one last year that caused him to miss the Orange Bowl, Walker is doing what he sees best for him and his immediate family.
Walker was a preseason All-Conference selection after posting six sacks and ten tackles for loss in his 2015 redshirt sophomore campaign. The Garland, Texas native finished this year with seven tackles and four passes defended and is a highly projected prospect.
