Clearlogo4820503_lg_1South Grand Prairie has gone 1-2 in their recent three game stretch that includes losses to Duncanville and Cedar Hill. They still have the upper hand in claiming the final playoff spot in the powerhouse 7-6A district, but are facing their toughest opponent yet this season against the undefeated DeSoto Eagles on Thursday.

ESPN will be in attendance and broadcasting the game live due to the amount of outstanding talent that will be playing in this game with players such as SGP DB Jeffrey Okudah and DeSoto QB Shawn Robinson headlining the game.

Of course Grand Prairie will have their eyes on this game as well due to the playoff scenario and events that need to unfold if they wish to find themselves in the playoff picture. If South Grand Prairie loses then Grand Prairie can get in with a win by four points or more over Duncanville.

If Grand Prairie were to get into the playoffs then that would change the picture for DeSoto who would then be pushed to the Division I bracket that could potentially set up another matchup between Allen and DeSoto who is all too familiar with the outcomes of that game. DeSoto has been eliminated by Allen in the playoffs in four consecutive years.

SGP will of course be hoping for a Duncanville win, will need to pull out all the stop to try and stop a DeSoto team that has yet to see an opponent come within a touchdown of beating them their September victory against Midland. Needless to say that this matchup will be providing one of the most intriguing storylines this week as the playoffs loom right around the corner.
