The Red Raiders will be getting some much needed help on the defensive front in a couple years. Steven Parker, a DE/OLB out of South Oak Cliff, has committed to Texas Tech.
After talking to my family and my coaches I am extremely blessed and honored to say that I'm committed to Texas Tech! #GunsUp @SOCFootball1 pic.twitter.com/kZ6cqGbFyC

South Oak Cliff had a more than solid run in 2016. The Bears went 9-4, pushing three rounds deep into the playoffs before eventually falling to Mesquite Poteet, 37-45.
Parker is 6’4, 220 lbs with room to grow, and he could potentially fit right in at Texas Tech if the coaching staff remains the same. Kliff Kingsbury might just be coaching for his job in the next season, and if he doesn’t keep it in the near future, recruiting in the Lone Star State will get a little crazy.
