Houston MacArthur (2-7) travels north on I-45 to Spring to take on the Spring Lions at Planet Ford Stadium under the lights of Friday night. The kickoff is scheduled for 7 PM.

Spring vs Houston MacArthur

Spring Lions:

Spring has outscored their last four opponents 191-6 and has averaged 47 points per game on offense.

The offense is led by QB Bishop Davenport:

  • 2637 passing yards
  • 31 passing touchdowns
  • 437 rushing yards
  • 5 rushing touchdowns
  • Completing 70% of his passes

**Last week vs Nimitz: 21 of 29 passing (72% completion pct.), 299 yards, 4 touchdowns.

Davenport is committed to Utah State, according to 247sports.

WR Cadyn Bradley:

The Spring Defense: 

The Lions have allowed 6 points scored against them in their last 4 games. For the season, they have allowed just 9 points per game. Through nine games, they have pitched three shutouts this season.

**Last week vs Nimitz: Held Nimitz to just 146 yards total offense and only 6 first downs.

The LEADERS on defense are:

  • Bruce Davis: 46 tackles, 3 tackles for loss.
  • Darryl Doherty: 48 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 INT.
  • Gerrod Henderson: 40 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and 1 INT.
  • Bryce Morton: 25 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 5 sacks.
  • Jeffrey Foster: 20 tackles, 3 INTs.

**Notes from the Sideline: Spring will have to stay focused from a fundamental standpoint, as they committed 11 penalties for 100 yards vs Nimitz last week.

MacArthur Generals:

MacArthur has struggled this season, winning just 2 games thus far. Their first win was the first game of the season against Fort Bend Austin, a 20-14 victory:

  • Generals QB Darius Hicks passed for 163 yards
  • RB Kharon Brown rushed for 50 yards and a TD.

Their second win was a 48-6 win over Aldine:

  • The Generals racked 402 yards of offense.
  • QB Darius Hicks: 106 yards passing, 2 TDs.
  • RB Kharon Brown: 58 yards rushing, 2 TDs.
  • WRs Jason Crampton and Justin Williams: 1 receiving TD each.
