The second week of the College Football Playoff Rankings are out and TCU has risen.
The Horned Frogs are now at No. 6, up two from last weeks No. 8 ranking. Committee members must have taken the Frogs impressive outing against Texas this weekend.
For the rest of the Big 12, it’s looking pretty good. OU remained still and is at No. 5, while Oklahoma State gets in at 15 and Iowa State is 21. The Big 12 has shown on national TV it is still about big scoring, but TCU has done quite the opposite.
TCU has allowed less than seven points six times in 2017, and rank seventh nationally in yards a game. The ranking is good, considering the loss to Iowa State just two weeks ago. It puts next weeks game in Norman as a No. 5 vs. No. 6 game.
A win in Norman would possibly push the Horned Frogs into the Top Four, but the committee seems to be in love with Clemson, despite it’s loss to Clemson and struggles with lesser teams.

Good For The Big 12
Big 12 pundits have long heralded how good the conference truly is. Tuesday night, the committee showed it is willing to listen. With two Big 12 teams in the top six, there’s a very real possibility one of them will end up in the playoffs. But with only two one-loss teams remaining in conference, it could also be left out if anarchy comes to town.
Oklahoma will have the easier road, given the name and national recognition. But TCU has certainly played well enough to make it into the playoffs. If it can keep OU under 30 for the second time this season, the Frogs will have a strong case to present next week.
The rest of the conference remaining in the top 25 is good too. It keeps the Iowa State loss as a quality loss and the Oklahoma State win as a big one as well.
