The Longhorns have long been one of the most talented teams in the nation, regardless of record. Their recruiting and the amount of players they send to the NFL is always at least on par with other massive schools, even when they aren’t winning as many games. In Tom Herman’s first year, he has two of them, according to the Sporting News.

Connor Williams and Malik Jefferson are Sporting News Preseason All-Americans, and it definitely won’t be the last set of honors for the pair. They’re both incredibly talented, and Herman is going to have to lean on them heavily in his first year. Jefferson in particular is interesting, as he had a fantastic freshman season, followed by a sophomore slump.
The Longhorns will open their season against Maryland on September 2nd.
