Delance was a four-star prospect from North Mesquite and was one of the top recruits to commit as a member of the 2016 recruiting class.
The now former Longhorn saw action in two games last season and was expected to take on a bigger role on the offensive line in 2017.
During his recruitment, Delance had offers from several top programs across the country, including Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Alabama, Michigan and LSU among others. If he transfers to another FBS school, he will have to sit out the 2017 season. However, he would be eligible immediately if he transferred to an FCS program.
Texas opens their season at home on September 1 against Maryland.
