Elliott has had a breakout junior season for the Longhorns, compiling 57 tackles, 8.5 sacks, six interceptions and three fumble recoveries this season. The former Rockwall-Heath star had five tackles and a pass breakup in Saturday’s win over West Virginia that now has the Longhorns bowl eligible. He’ll look to cap off the regular season strong when the Longhorns host Texas Tech on Friday.
As for the award itself, the winner will be announced on December 7 on ESPN.
