With less than two weeks before their season opener, the Texas Longhorns now officially have to replace one of their projected starters for the season. Per the school, senior tight end Andrew Beck will miss the entire season after suffering a foot fracture last week during practice.

Beck had initially been ruled out for 6-8 weeks, but the injury is now worse than originally projected. He had injured that same foot in February that had caused him to miss a portion of spring practice.
After serving as primarily a lead blocker last year, the senior from Tampa, Florida was expected to take on a bigger role in the offense for Tom Herman. Beck recorded four catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns last season.
With Beck now officially sidelined for the year, graduate transfer Kendall Moore from Syracuse will likely be the next man up for the Longhorns for the opener on September 1 against Maryland. Freshmen Reese Leitao and Cade Brewer will also be considered options this season. Leitao will miss the first two games due to suspension, while Brewer will be entering his first year of college football coming from Lake Travis.
