The Red Raiders are coming of a 27-23 victory on the road against the Texas Longhorns on Friday night to cap off a tumultous regular season that included three blown to Kansas State, West Virginia and Oklahoma State. The Red Raiders have struggled to show progress under Kingsbury’s tenure and that could be due to lackluster defensive play.
The former Texas Tech gunslinger started 8-5 during his first season of coaching at his alma honor, but has gone 16-21 since that season. The one key thing that Kingsbury has on his side is support from his Athletic Director.

Texas Tech is currently 6-6 on the season, but they have the advantage of knowing their coach will remain entering the off season and if they can secure a bowl victory, it will go a long way during the recruiting process. The Red Raiders will find out their postseason fate next week.
