In a move that many saw coming, Texas Tech’s Xavier Martin is officially at wide receiver now.
#TexasTech confirms that Xavier Martin (Fr-HS, Cibolo Steele) is moving from QB to WR. He was a likely RS at QB, being 4th after spring.

Xavier Martin played quarterback at Cibolo Steele, but was widely expected to switch to wide receiver at Texas Tech. He played quarterback during Texas Tech’s spring practices, and even tossed a touchdown during the spring game.
The move of Martin to wide receiver could signal that beleaguered quarterback Jett Duffey will be available for the next season, but the starting quarterback job is still Nic Shimonek’s to lose. Texas Tech’s had a rough offseason, but a couple early wins against Eastern Washington and Arizona State might snowball the season in a good direction.
