Texas Wesleyan To Host Spring Game April 22nd Inside Farrington Field

For those anticipating the return of football at Texas Wesleyan the wait will not be much longer.

Wesleyan commenced its first practice in full pads a few weeks ago inside Fort Worth’s Farrington Field and it perhaps could not come soon enough for the team and staff as the hours begin winding down towards their spring game on April 22nd.

Of course the ambiguity that comes with restarting a program from the ground up puts Wesleyan in the spotlight but head coach Joe Prud’homme and staff have been working for the better part of the past year to ensure that when the time comes for the season to begin, it makes the 76-year wait well worth it.

The Blue and Gold Game will allow the public to see just what has been going on with the reconvened NAIA program and a taste of what is to come.

Coach Prud’homme has been ecstatic with the work ethic of everyone involved and is pleased with the way the program has been coming along. There have been “some big plays, some bad busts, great effort…but it will be interesting,” according to Prud’homme.

The script will allow for those in attendance to see a heavy dose of plays and the quarterback and running back positions should portray some interesting position battles to keep an eye on.

However one aspect of the team where ambiguity will prove to be beneficial is in how each day, someone different steps up into the role of a team leader according to Prud’homme.

The Spring Game will begin at 3pm on Saturday April 22, and admission to the game is free.
