Top Coach in Lake Worth History Retiring
In a story first broken on Twitter by Matt Stepp from Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, the coaching with the best win percentage in Lake Worth history is retiring.

Tracy Welch is stepping down as the Head Football Coach of the Lake Worth Bullfrogs. Welch led the Bullfrogs to a 35-23 record as Head Coach, including a 10-3 season in 2023 and a 9-3 season in 2021. He led the team to the 4A D1 regional semifinal, where they lost to the state champion China Spring Cougars.
Welch has been a coach for 35 years, spending time in college coaching before spending the past 29 years as a coach in Texas high school football, first at Copperas Cove and then at Lake Worth.
