Yesterday, Jordan Elliott announced that he would be transferring colleges via Snapchat, leaving the Longhorns without much depth on the defensive line. Later on in the day, the Longhorns were dealt another blow with the announcement that Marcel Southall has left the team as well.

Elliott has not indicated the reason for his transfer, while Southall was sidelined for most of spring practice with academic issues.
This leaves the Longhorns with huge depth issues across the defensive line. Texas will kick off the 2017 season hosting Maryland on the 40 Acres in Tom Herman’s debut as a head coach.
