2A Team of the Week: Tolar Rattlers
It was a top 10 showdown in District 5-2A Division I this past Friday as #9 Tolar traveled to square off against #6 Coleman.
Stakes were high as the winner would take a clear lead in the district title race.
And after limiting opponents to just 57 total points in their first five games, the Rattler defense delivered yet again, shutting Coleman out through the first three quarters.
And while Coleman’s offense sputtering, Tolar’s offense was grinding out yardage thanks to sophomore running back Peyton Brown. He accounted for all but one of Tolar’s offensive yards, finishing with 142 yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns.
Coleman eventually got on the board in the fourth quarter on an 11-yard touchdown run by Jadin Jackson, but it was too late as Brown had already led Tolar out to a 16-0 advantage by that point.
Tolar would go on to secure that 16-6 victory, improving to 6-0 on the season.
The next test for the Rattlers will be this Friday as they host De Leon, looking to maintain their perfect start to the season.
