4A Team of the Week: Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns
Hamshire-Fannett had never beaten West Orange-Stark heading into their matchup last Friday.
However, Longhorn junior quarterback D’onte Zeno made it evident he wanted to put that streak to an end.
With the score tied at 13 in the third quarter, Zeno hit senior receiver DJ Brown for a 44-yard score that put the Longhorns up 20-13.
Then in the fourth quarter, Zeno delivered again, finding freshmen Pierce Pirtle for an eight-yard touchdown. That score gave Hamshire-Fannett the breathing space it needed as it would go on to secure a 26-21 victory.
He would go onto finish with behind 111 passing yards and three passing touchdowns as well as 121 yards on the ground.

In addition to Zeno’s exploits offensively, Tyler Spencer pitched in with 72 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Defensively, senior linebacker Holden Hatcher led the way with 16 total tackles.
Hamshire-Fannett now sits at 5-2 on the season and will look to keep the momentum going when it travels to a winless Hardin-Jefferson side this Friday.
