1A Six Man
Week Four Six-Man Team of the Week: Moran
Six-Man Team of the Week: Moran Bulldogs
It had been a tough couple of seasons for the Moran Bulldogs. From 2o2o-2022, they had won just three total games.
Despite the tough stretch, head coach John Hughes felt more confident coming into this year because of increased numbers in the program.
So far, his optimism looks well-placed. Moran now sits at 2-2 on the year after a wild win over Mullin last Saturday.
The Bulldogs trailed Mullin 67-60 in the closing minutes. However, a 20-yard touchdown pass from Ellis Hise to Garrett Hamilton with just four minutes remaining got Moran within one. Cotten Campbell delivered on the ensuing point after kick, giving Moran a 68-67 lead it wouldn’t relinquish as it recovered a fumble late on to seal the victory.
Hise was the star of the night as he threw for 114 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 287 yards and another six scores on the ground. In the receiving game, Caleb York had three catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
The Bulldogs will look to keep their hot start going this Saturday when they hosts Blanket at 5:00.
