Westlake Continues Dominant Run, Claiming Another Blow Out

The Chaparrals continue to look like the most formidable high school team in the Austin area, if not the state as they look for a 4-peat. A week after embarrassing Del Valle 73-7, Westlake kept the blow out trend going, annihilating Anderson 66-17 in an at home, district game.

On paper, it didn’t look that easy. Coming into the contest, Anderson quarterback Fred Dale was ranked in the top 10 in passing yards and total yards across the state.

For the first half of the contest, Dale did keep the Trojans afloat, managing 231 passing yards and two deep touchdowns in the first half. Then, after halftime, he threw three interceptions in his first three possessions of the second half, all leading to scores. Chaparral Judson Crockett snagged two and Will Courtney poached another.

The game ball goes to Notre Dame commit and Westlake wide receiver Jaden Greathouse, earning 200+ career receptions. His milestone occurred on a tap pass from Paxton Land, leading to a 31 yard run after the catch. His dominant stretch is now 46 straight games, including three straight Class 6-A state championships.

When the team travels to Dripping Springs (6-0) next week, Greathouse will have an opportunity to achieve 50 career touchdowns with Westlake. Anderson (3-4) next faces a tall task, hosting Lake Travis this Friday.
