Westlake Dominates Del Valle, Remains Perfect On Season

Round Rock Hail Roof Inspection

Perhaps Del Valle played harder than expected and forced Westlake to finish drives with short runs, but the Chaparrals still annihilated their opponent 58-0. It was a blowout on homecoming night for Westlake, much to the satisfaction of the home fans, adorned in their red and blue team colors. The Chaps are now 3-0 in district play, including four shutouts on the season.

A week following their victory against Lake Travis—seemingly their only close contest—Westlake bulldozed Del Valle, even with their reserves checking in throughout the second half.

Sophomore quarterback Rees Wise led the onslaught in the first half with two scores, with senior Paxton Land checking in to the second half with a throwing TD and a rushing score.

Kicker Spencer Barnett booted in two field goals from 39 and 40 yards, before backup Jonathan Kahn nailed his first varsity field goal from 30 yards at the end of regulation.

Running back Jack Kayser scored a pair of touchdowns in the first half, totaling seven rushing scores on the season.

In total, Del Valle managed only 41 yards of total offense and four first downs.

The last time the Chaps lost was against North Shore in last year’s 6A DI semifinal. In total, they have gone a remarkable 59-1 in their last 60 matches.

After a short week, Westlake will take on Anderson on Thursday at Nelson Field. Del Valle faces a tall task with Lake Travis on Friday.
