Former Wichita Falls Rider and current Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett was named the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Week on Tuesday after his performance against Nebraska on Saturday.

Barrett completed 27 of 33 passes for 325 yards and five touchdowns in a 56-14 victory over the Huskers. He also rushed for two touchdowns in the win. His performance also tied him with Drew Brees (Austin Westlake) for most touchdown passes by a Big Ten quarterback with 90.

The redshirt senior has also received accolades from the Big Ten as the conference’s offensive player of the week and the Earl Campbell Player of the Week Award.

Barrett and Ohio State will have the week off this week before a massive showdown at home against Penn State on October 28.
