After a regional semifinal appearance last season, the Wall Hawks lose some talent, but have high expectations in 2016.

The Hawks will have to find a quarterback, but return running back Thomas Halfmann and fullback Tymber Carr, who rushed for 1,026 yards in 2015. Sterlyn Hartnam return at the wide-out spot, looking to be the leading receiver and lead the Hawks to another successful season.

The defense returns six starters with defensive end Garrett Sanford leading the way. Sanford had 115 tackles and eight sacks, last season, and is looking for more from the defense. Also leading the defense will be defensive end Marty Weishuhn.

Wall is placed in District 2-3AD1 with Crane, Kermit, San Angelo Grape Creek and Tornillo. It is without a doubt that the oddsmakers’ favorite to nab the title in November is Wall. The Hawks are the only team to hold a winning record in the past season out of the district field, with Crane having the second most amount of wins in district.

Like every year, Wall is featured deep in the playoffs and is expected to make noise once again. State may not be out of the question in Wall, but Brock is looking to defend their state title as well.
The Hawks open up their 2016 season with a road trip to Monahans and then host Cisco in a big matchup in the home opener on September 2.
