Frisco Lone Star quarterback Jason Shelley will have one more Texas receiver joining him in Salt Lake City next season. El Paso El Dorado receiver Tyquez Hampton announced on Tuesday that he was committing to play at Utah.

Hampton had previously been committed to Washington State. He also had offers from SMU, UTEP, West Virginia, and Mississippi State among others. Hampton leads the Aztecs with 38 receptions for 564 yards and seven touchdowns.
El Dorado sits at 4-2 and 2-1 in District 1-6A. The Aztecs square off Thursday night against Franklin, who is also 2-1 in district. Hampton will be leaned on as a valuable receiver on the outside as El Dorado faces two crucial games in consecutive weeks against Franklin and Americas.
The Utes now have five commitments from Texas for the 2017 class, which include Shelley and his teammate Jaylen Dixon. Together, those three will look to give the Utes’ offense more explosiveness and tough matchups for defenses in the very near future.
