It’s been a very tumultuous last few months for the Baylor Bears football program. While the school is still dealing with the effects of the sexual assault scandal, a new report indicates that the Bears are now dealing with potential recruiting violations.
According to an ESPN report, Baylor offensive coordinator Kendal Briles met with NCAA officials in Indianapolis Wednesday to discuss potential recruiting violations. In that same report, a source said that the investigation has nothing to do with the ongoing sexual assault investigation.
As it turns out, this isn’t the first time that Briles has been in trouble with recruiting violations. He was suspended for the season opener last year for having contact with a recruit outside an allowed recruiting period. Wide receiver coach Tate Wallis was also suspended for that season opener related to that violation. The Bears take on Oklahoma on Saturday in Norman.
