Grapevine’s search to replace Randy Jackson is over, as they have found a replacement in his old coaching staff – former defensive coordinator and interim head coach Mike Alexander will be the permanent head coach of the Mustangs.

Three years ago, Grapevine was 3-8, and was struggling heavily. Jackson revitalized the program, taking them to a 10-2 record this past year, with huge wins over Colleyville Heritage and Azle. The Mustangs ran into the killing machine known as Aledo in the second round, and ended their season in November.
As Jackson leaves to attempt to revitalize North Forney, Grapevine gets some continuity by hiring Alexander from within. The Grapevine defense was solid last year thanks to Alexander, and having more or less the same coaching staff will prove fruitful for the future.
