As first reported by the Associated Press, lawyers representing Baylor University acknowledged the NCAA probe is part of an ‘ongoing, pending’ investigation into the school. Baylor continues to deal with the aftermath of the sexual assault that led to the firing of former head coach Art Briles and the resignations of former school president Ken Star and athletic director Ian McCaw.
The lawyers revealed the investigation after turning over a legal filing last week. Currently, the school is being sued by attorneys of several women who represent alleged victims in the scandal.
Back in May, ESPN had reported that the NCAA had conducted interviews with Baylor officials, former employees, and alleged victims but Baylor had not been given a formal notice of investigation.
