Texas Tech will take another hit to its depth. Safety Payton Hendrix has announced that he will transfer from the program, according to a post on his Twitter account.

Hendrix only ended up with 17 total tackles in his Texas Tech career, according to Sports-Reference.com. He never truly made as much of a splash as was intended, and Texas Tech’s secondary wasn’t what you could call a “strength” while he was there.
The Red Raiders are going to have to figure some huge things out quickly if they want to make a bowl game. In a year where a lot of normally dominant Big 12 teams are breaking in new coaches, or just simply aren’t as strong as they normally are, Texas Tech will be breaking in a new starting quarterback and will have to deal with the aftermath of many transfers, which will now include Hendrix.
