James Washington Won’t Miss Any Playing Time, Per Report

In a since-deleted tweet, the podcast “Pardon My Take” reported that James Washington, star receiver at Oklahoma State and former Stamford standout, would miss the first four games of the season.

According to Mark Cooper of the Tulsa World, that won’t be happening. Washington has a hernia, yes, but it’s an old one, likely one that he’s had since birth. The injury won’t keep him out of any games.

In a subtle shot at the reports before Washington cleared the air yesterday, Oklahoma State published a practice video that shows Washington clearly practicing in full pads and moving well.

Oklahoma State is going to have a ridiculously explosive offense in 2017, and Washington might be the best player in that unit. He caught 71 passes for 1,380 yards and 10 touchdowns last year, and he’s definitely looking at a lot more with veteran quarterback Mason Rudolph returning. The Cowboys will be on the short list of favorites to win the Big 12.
