The Texas A&M Aggies will have a new addition on their helmets this weekend, adding a new decal to bring awareness to the ongoing situation in the Houston area and the Gulf Coast. he campus on College Station sits about 100 miles north of Houston, which has seen more than 40 inches of rain over the last several days because of the storm.

Per the school, more the half of the current Aggie roster had been affected by Hurricane Harvey. According to Carter Karels of The Dallas Morning News, the families of Trayveon Williams and Jarrett Johnson had to be rescued from the flooding.
Head coach Kevin Sumlin, who spent four seasons as the head coach at the University of Houston from 2008-2011, encouraged people to support the American Red Cross and other relief organizations dedicated to helping those affected by Hurricane Harvey during his weekly press conference.

“It’s really a tough time,” Sumlin said, “It’s something that hits home with us with the number of players from the Gulf Coast area, and from Houston in particular, on our team. It’s a tough time for the people of Houston and the Gulf Coast, and our thoughts and prayers are with them.”
Texas A&M faces UCLA on September 3 at the Rose Bowl.
