Horned Frogs also benefited from two Top 10 teams going down from the Big Ten on Saturday. Previously ranked No. 7 Penn State lost at Michigan State while previously ranked No. 3 Ohio State was blown out by Iowa.
TCU remains the only Texas team ranked in either poll and have a major opportunity Saturday to make their case for the College Football Playoff. The Horned Frogs travel to No. 5 Oklahoma on Saturday in a game that will likely decide who plays in the Big 12 championship and keeps their hopes alive for the playoff.
Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
