Matthew Stafford A Texas HS Football Hall of Famer

Sani Sport – Machine to help minimize harmful bacteria in PPE

We debated Matthew Stafford’s Hall of Fame merits recently. Despite our prediction that the Los Angeles Rams quarterback wasn’t quite up to snuff, the quarterback will be inducted in a different way over in Waco. A few months after being honored at Highland Park, Stafford continues his Texas HS Football nostalgia tour by being honored at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame this upcoming summer.

Between state championship games Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame announced its 2023 class, and Stafford was the headliner. Other players joining the Rams champ are Bert Clark (Wichita Falls), Leonard Davis (Wortham), John Henry (Lorena), Patrick Rockett (Lee), and Bobby Wuensch (Houston Jones).

Though he struggled mightily with Los Angeles this year, Stafford saw brighter days last season, when he won a Super Bowl with the team. The championship aspirations began when Stafford lead Highland Park to a 15-0 record and the UIL 4A Division I state championship in 2005. His Dallas alma mater has won more games than any other in Texas high school football history.

The Hall of Fame ceremony takes places May 6, 2023.
