Duncanville Continues Win Streak, Outclasses Horn

Tom Thumb - DFW's Grocer Since 1948

One of the best teams in Texas high school football extended their dominance on Friday night.

Duncanville claimed their 14th consecutive win, dating back to last season, handing Horn their fifth straight loss 52-7.

Less than two minutes into the game, Keelon Russel launched a 72-yard bomb on the opening drive to receiver Ace Theus. On the next possession, the pair linked up again, this time for an even longer 77-yard toss, giving Theus 151 yards and two scores early; he finished the evening with 220 total receiving yards.

The 5-star connection was also on full display all night with 5-star quarterback and Alabama commit Russell connecting with 5-star receiver and Oregon commit Dakorien Moore throughout the night. Moore hauled in a duo of touchdowns, scoring on a 29-yard catch at the end of the first quarter and a 72-yard grab with 20 seconds left on the first half clock. Moore was responsible for 119 receiving yards.

Russel had four first-half touchdowns to lead the Panthers over the Jaguars 38-7 by the half, including 31 consecutive points without a response. Russel finished the night with 370 yards on 13-20 passing for four touchdowns and zero interceptions.

By the end of the contest, the box score was simply one-sided.

Duncanville had 606 total yards compared to Horn’s 167, outpacing their opponent on the ground 188 to 34 rushing yards.

Duncanville will host Mesquite next Friday, before traveling to Cedar Hill the following week to finish their regular season tilt.
