The 84th annual Hyundai Sun Bowl will feature a familiar face and a fresh, new one, as the North Carolina State Wolfpack will take on the Arizona State Sun Devils on Friday, December 29.
NC State (8-4), the Atlantic Coast Conference representative, is coming into the matchup as the second place team in the ACC Atlantic Division and ranked no. 24 in the AP Poll.
They have notable wins under their belt including a 27-21 win over Florida State, a 39-25 win over Louisville and a 33-21 win over rivals North Carolina.
The Wolfpack’s top player in senior defensive end Bradley Chubb, who is likely to be a top-10 NFL draft pick, has not yet decided whether or not he will play in the game.
The Pac-12 affiliate of Arizona State (7-5) is returning to the Sun Bowl after their 2014 outing where they upended Duke in a thrilling 36-31 win.
However, this time around, the Sun Devils will enter the Sun Bowl with a vastly different storyline. The Sun Devils recently announced the firing of six-year head coach Todd Graham, who posted a 46-31 overall record with Arizona State. However, instead of naming an interim head coach, Graham will coach his final game with the Sun Devils on Dec. 29.
Kickoff between the two is slated for 1 p.m. MT.
