This year, the Rangers were expected to have another dominant showing as they entered the game as 26-point favorites.
Big Spring had other ideas.
The Steers kept proceedings close with two touchdowns from its quarterback Gavin Padron and 115 rushing yards and a touchdown from its running back Kavien Ford.
With under a minute to go, the Steers had one last chance, down 35-30 facing a 4th down at the Riverside 20-yard line.
And with the game on the line, Padron came up with the play of his Big Spring career.
Scrambling for his life, he evaded Riverside defenders and eventually heaved the ball towards the end zone. Breaking back towards the ball was Ford, who came up with the grab to seal an unbelievable 38-35 victory for the Steers.
